About the Young Leaders in Action
Young Leaders in Action is an initiative within the ‘Peacebuilding in Divided Societies’ programme implemented by the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, in collaboration with the British Council through its regional Stronger Together programme.
Τhe ‘Peacebuilding in Divided Societies’ programme aims to strengthen women and young people’s input to discussions on peace and security, with a focus on peacebuilding, social action, leadership, negotiation, and intercommunal collaboration.
Young Leaders in Action will focus on equipping participants with the tools and strategies needed to support them to develop their own social action projects and work together in intercommunal teams to implement them.
The initiative includes an immersive workshop that aims to empower the next generation of young leaders and peacebuilders across Cyprus to act on issues related to gender and youth inclusive peacebuilding.
Small grants up to €300 will be provided for the implementation of their ideas. Social actions need to reach people across the divide and can take place throughout Cyprus. Implementation period of small grants for social actions: September 2023 to January 2024.
