The United Nations Truce Supervision Organization is deeply disturbed by the content of a video circulating on social media.
The behavior seen in it is abhorrent and goes against everything we stand for in terms of the values of the United Nations and the standards of conduct of its personnel.
Upon receipt of this video, the UN Office of Internal Oversight Services immediately launched an investigation to ascertain the facts.
Any appropriate actions will be swiftly taken.
The Mission stands committed to the Organization’s zero-tolerance policy against any kind of misconduct, including sexual exploitation and abuse, and reminds its personnel of their obligations to the UN Code of Conduct.
As part of the Secretary-General’s commitment to transparency, we will keep the media informed upon conclusion of the investigation.
