On 25 June, MINURSO celebrated Croatia’s National Day by raising the country’s flag at the Mission Headquarters in Laayoune next to the UN flag. On this day, Croatia commemorates the decision of the Croatian Parliament to declare independence in 1991 from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
Croatia became a UN Member State on 22 May 1992. It has been actively contributing to the maintenance of international peace and security and has provided troops to UN peacekeeping missions worldwide, including military observers to MINURSO.
The national flag of Croatia is one of the state symbols of the country. It consists of three equal size, horizontal stripes in red, white and blue colors, with the coat of arms of Croatia in the centre.
Sretan Nacionalni Dan!
