Earlier in the week, on 12 June, ASG Keita and SRSG Tanin met in Pristina with Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Behgjet Isa Pacolli.
The Pristina leadership reiterated their commitment to the dialogue process with Belgrade and the need to reach an agreement that would allow both sides to move forward and focus on meeting the economic needs of the people. They also welcomed UNMIK’s recent efforts in the area of trust-building and the relationship of trust that they enjoy with the SRSG and his staff.
In both meetings, ASG Keita encouraged Kosovo leaders to make progress in the EU-facilitated dialogue towards the normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade.
