UN Police

Life in the Field

The men and women of the UN Police have answered the call to protect the vulnerable, empower the disenfranchised, and rebuild that which has been destroyed by conflict and violence. Being a police peacekeeper is not a profession of glory and adventure, but of humility, responsibility, and dedication to those we serve.

The UN Police Magazine chronicles what we do both at headquarters and in UN peace operations all over the world. It includes opinion pieces from UN and DPKO leadership, interviews with UN Police officers and staff, photo spreads of daily life in our missions and the latest news in police peacekeeping.

The videos also collected here let our officers, in their own words, describe what it's like serving in a variety of capacities with the UN Police. Take a minute to watch, and you'll get a taste of what police peacekeeping is all about.
