SRSG Sergio Vieira de Mello today left for Switzerland, where he will meet with various representatives from the diplomatic community, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the Red Cross, and the international media. On Thursday, 2 November, he will give a lecture at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva on the role of the United Nations. SRSG returns to Dili on 10 November.
UNTAET TELEVISION INCREASES PROGRAMMING
As of today, UNTAET television, or Televizaun Timor Lorosa’e, is broadcasting three times a week, instead of once a week, as has been the schedule up until now.
The service will increase to five times a week next month.
UNTAET television’s half-hour program features interviews, news, entertainment and public service announcements.
