On 11 October, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK Zahir Tanin met with the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, as part of regular consultations in advance of the Security Council session on Kosovo.
During the meeting, SRSG Tanin reiterated UNMIK’s continued support for strengthening Kosovo’s rule of law and democratic institutions, as well as building trust among communities. The SRSG and Prime Minister Kurti also discussed recent developments and the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, and the Head of UNMIK emphasized the importance of continuous engagement with established dialogue mechanisms.
SRSG Tanin will report to the Security Council on 15 October 2021.
