MINURSO CELEBRATES NATIONAL DAY OF COLOMBIA [1]

On 20 July, MINURSO observed Colombia’s Independence Day by hoisting the national flag at the Mission’s HQ in Laayoune next to the UN flag.
Since signing a framework agreement with the United Nations in 2015, Colombia’s Armed Forces have deployed over 20 military observers in a number of different missions, including MINURSO.
On the Independence Day, Colombia pays tribute to its multicultural heritage recognizing the contribution of the Afro-descendant and indigenous population, and the role that women have played in the country’s history.
