- The Security Council decides to establish the United Nations Supervision Mission in Syria (UNSMIS), comprising an initial deployment of up to 300 unarmed military observers as well as an appropriate civilian component [S/RES/2043] of 21 April 2012.
- The Security Council decides to authorize an advance team of up to 30 unarmed military observers to liaise with the parties and to begin to report on the implementation of a full cessation of armed violence [S/RES/2042] (Text of the six-point proposal annexed) of 14 April 2012.
