Indonesia arrests leader of militia group in West Timor: UN mission

4 October   --Indonesian authorities in West Timor have arrested militia leader Eurico Guterres, who is being held at the National Police Headquarters, according to the United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor (UNTAET).

The news of the arrest came from Indonesia's Attorney General Marzuki Darusman, who told UNTAET that the militia chief had been picked up yesterday.

Meanwhile, the UN Mission has announced that it will hold a memorial service tomorrow in Dili for the two peacekeepers killed in a helicopter crash on Tuesday in East Timor's Same district.

The soldiers -- Pvt. José Lopes and First Sgt. José Vitorino Fernandes - were both nationals of Portugal.
