On 9 July MINURSO hoisted at the Mission HQ the national flag of Argentina to mark the country’s Independence Day.
Since 1958, Argentina has contributed more than 40,000 military and police personnel to UN missions—including over 12,000 to UNFICYP alone. Currently, Argentinian peacekeepers are serving in six operations led by the Department of Peace Operations.
In MINURSO, Military Observers from Argentina carry out the Mission’s important work at the Teams Sites, while facing the challenging and austere conditions of the Sahara desert.
