As we commemorate UN Peacekeeping's 75th anniversary, we invite you to join us for an Inside Out action at 11am EST on 26 May in Times Square to celebrate all the people who work together to build and maintain peace across the world, from peacekeepers to community members and local influencers in the places where our missions operate. For 75 years, UN peacekeeping has made a tangible difference to the lives of millions of people caught up in conflict. The Inside Out action is a way to thank peacekeepers, past and present, for their service and sacrifice, and pay tribute to the courageous people who brave conflict and strive for peace in the face of adversity. They inspire us all to take action in the knowledge that #PeaceBeginsWithMe.
Inside Out is a platform that helps communities around the world stand up for what they believe in and spark global change locally. It was founded by renowned street artist JR in 2011. Ten years ago, he launched an action in Times Square for the first time. This year, the famous black and white portraits will again cover Times Square and feature some of the people working together in the pursuit of global peace.
At this special event, you will get a chance to add your voice to the call for peace by having your portrait taken and added to the collection. But the art installation is temporary so make sure not to miss it! Please join us in the global movement for peace and progress for all people.
