On 11 June, the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Ms. Bintou Keita, and Special Representative of the Secretary-General and head of UNMIK, Mr. Zahir Tanin, met in Belgrade with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, First Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić and Head of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo (OKiM), Marko Djurić.
The Belgrade leadership emphasized their firm support for UNMIK in fulfilling its mandate to preserve peace and security in Kosovo and the need for building inter-community trust. They expressed their wish to continue the Brussels-facilitated dialogue process with Pristina and to realize compromise solutions on the issue of Kosovo, that would serve to the benefit of both sides.
President Vučić stated that the next high-level political dialogue is likely to be held at the end of June.
